Clearly, I need more publicity

I have to say this summer I've experienced more food comas than is normal.

Publicity:

The toilet paper in France was pink. Its weird how you remember these things. Clearly, Americans shouldn't market French toilet paper.

The sandwhiches in France were awesome, and pain au chocolate is to die for.

Today, I actually felt like I was on a team, which was pretty sweet. It also helped distract from the fact that some people just now how to push all my buttons. Honestly - how many people have truly seen me angry?

I'm excited for this school year, but a bit nervous to see how it will turn out. Have I taken on too much? Will my head explode?

Its funny how you can be told one thing week two, and another entirely by someone higher up at week 6 that is completely sugar coated.

Do you know that feeling where you spend a really long time working (more specifically, in coding) with things not working, and all of a sudden, it works? After 10 hours of trucking away on something thats maybe.. 2% of the total project, its a great feeling. Small steps are amazing. Leaps and bounds are pretty good too.

It's amazing how quickly we take things for granted, like driving over the water everyday. Its amazing. Or how active I've been this summer. Or just how fortunate I've been in my life and all the crazy things I've experienced. How marketable it seems my skills and personality are. Its funny the times we feel the oldest - for me, there can be something incredibly mature in driving by myself. Reflective, or something.

Heck, in November I was told that if things didnt work out with a certain software company, I could be a model... I can live with that.
I miss fruit chug.

Have you ever played Mario Kart?

This weekend got off to a good start, as within 5 minutes of entering my car, Scott was calling Arthur in the other car and asking "Have you ever played Mario Kart?". He requested that I pull my car in front of Arthur, to which he dropped his banana peel out the van window. Score! We were laughing hysterically, though I'm not sure the other car appreciated it so much. Great start to a weekend of white water rafting. We actually ended up coming back early, but I'm completely enjoying my day of sitting and doing nothing.

Its amazing what travelling and living somewhere else does for you. I mean - Wisconsin, what's there to do, right? I think more than anything, travel connects you with new people, new ideas. New places always do things a bit differently, new customs, and new languages. Lets face it, the Wisconsin accent is a different language (I want my accent back). You also find yourself starting over, clean slate, or at least removed from some of the responsibilities you've picked up along the way - or maybe what you're worried about it just more focused. At any rate, new experiences and learning happen and happen easily.

Favorite random question: Are there more people or chairs in the world?
Anyone remember the show Early Edition?

Edit:
So this was supposed to be posted yesterday, but apparently didnt get there. You know, somewhere in the 12 hours I spent sitting on the couch.
You know what else is crazy? Its just over a year (a year and 4 days, to be exact) since I got back from France. When I dealt with the culture shock of being truly American again. Its amazing how quickly culture can be forgotten. I remember coming back and being so much more... sure of myself, maybe? More adult? I felt different, somehow, somewhere. And I had quite a lot to look forward to... I made the most of my one month long summer in the states. I miss Kentucky.

Vitamins A&W, "Why are we trying to get our son drunk?"

So its been a while since I've updated. Since the last update: Summerfest, a trip to Urbana, two days of work, and a vacation to California/Cruise to Mexico with my mom's side of the family. Fun times all around.

Random conversations:
Discussing which animals would win fights, including pythons, lions, polar bears, hippos, and gorillas. Hippos are crazy crazy creatures. My knowledge of exploding whales is... well useless. Lets just say work was fun on Thursday, eh?

There are some rather humorous pictures of two of my cousins and my sister pretending to be drunk while holding empty Margarita glasses in Mexico (which they didn't drink). I learnt how to play craps this weekend, and read like a book and a half. I also managed to destroy my skin with sunburn, but that will fade in time.

It's amazing how much fun doing nothing can be. Offset by how much fun being constantly busy can be, of course. My capacity for eating Za's is also amazing - twice within four days and I STILL wanted to go to Fazolis.

I apparently look like Anne Hathaway, and I'm ok with that. I also apparently don't look like I'm 21, at least not on a cruise.

Its also amazing how willing people at home are to keep in touch through a short email, and surprising who responds to mass mails. It's also nice to fit right back into place when going back home or to school, or being able to catch up with just a few words. Who knows when the next time I will go home will be though...
