Blog 101

There are now people in college who were born in 1990. That blows my mind.
I need to start purchasing more wisely. Paying more money for things I actually value, and making sure I will actually use the things I buy.
Green is about to go big - consider seeing the 11th hour. Its... interesting. A bit intense at first, but gives solutions. And its fairly interdisciplinary and there are some cool design stuff in it.
The future is here, its just not evenly distributed.
I want to live in a place where I dont need a car (and not have a car). Unfortunately, those places usually have poor air quality.
I'm so excited to go back to Urbana.
It will be interesting to see what happens with society in the next 20 years. With the environment and cars and all.

Interdisciplinary

"Interdisciplinary" tends to mean "everyday". I mean really, when does anything exist in any one given area? Its impossible to be an engineer and not be interdisciplinary.

I dislike high-walled cubicles. Granted, I have all sorts of drawers and cabinets and things... but meh.

Whiteboards are fun, however.

So is mall sushi for lunch.

I'm in St Louis, so if you are too we should play. Or go rock climbing, because I need muskles (say it the way its spelled, ok?).
It's weird not being on campus for Quad Day.

Read the book "Inspiration Sandwhich" by Sark.
And read the book "Life's Golden Ticket" by Brendan Buschard (Brushard? something like that, you get the idea).

Heh.

Sunah: so you basically found a job where they'll pay you a consultant's salary, you don't have to travel like a consultant, and you have the possibility of doing research
Me: yeah... i can travel like a consultant if i want to, where average is 50% of the time travel
Me: so... yes
Sunah: let me be the first of many to tell you how much they hate you for that
Sunah: hahaha

Sunah: that's ridiculous, it's like someone created a job based on your resume

What if?

What if you could crowd source your life?

For instance... I want to start a wiki of things I need to consider in an apartment and roommate for full time. And I should start a list of things I want to make sure I do while I'm in Chicago. But what if other people could add to that list to make sure I don't miss out on things? Specifically catered to me..
For instance... I have many lists of classes I want to take in my one remaining semester... but they keep being scattered random places, and I want other people's suggestions.

Randomness

All you can eat sushi is awesome... occasionally.

It would be awesome to have a cat named Bilaari and call him Bill. Or a cat named Fraggle. Or two cats, one named Fraggle and one named Rock.

Plane cars are awesome.

Data visualization is cool.

Cocktail parties are fun.. even if only 3 people show up. Desserts are delicious.
10 weeks goes by very fast.
This school year is going to be weird.
I'm excited to go to Brazil, and hope to get my tickets taken care of soon.
I'm... anxious to start work in St Louis.
I'm so looking forward to spending almost a week at home.
I'm going to miss being a block from the beach. And the thai place around the corner.
And the other interns. And my roommate here who is Amazing!
I'm so tired of looking for housing. I feel like that's all I've been doing for the last 8 months, with a month reprieve here and there.
The other day, Caroline got one of the el drivers to honk at us, truck driver style. It was awesome. New goal: to get people to do the wave while waiting for the train. We missed out on our 15 minute adventures in the city - time got the best of us. And the elevators take so long.
Did I mention front row center of Wicked for $25 is awesome?
And that I love having time to read?
And that what I want to do changes every week? But I have a pretty strong feeling now... that what I know here in Chicago is good and why pass up something that you know will not limit your options?
